Filament Winding
Arvind produces filament wound pipes and tanks that are used for multiple industrial applications, especially for process industries such as chemicals, fertilizers, petroleum and oil. This process involves winding filaments under tension over a rotating mandrel. We currently use glass roving filaments that are impregnated in a resin bath before they are wound onto the mandrel. Once the resin has cured, the mandrel is removed or extracted, leaving the hollow final product. For some products such as liquid or gas tanks, the ‘mandrel’ is a permanent part of the finished product forming a liner. Thus a variety of cylindrical shapes with open/ closed ends can be produced for different applications such as pipes, pressure tubes, cylindrical housings and tanks for storing different fluids.
Currently, Arvind Composites produces following products through filament winding
- Housing/Pipes/Tubes upto 8” diameter upto 6 meter length suitable for use as pressure tubes/ RO Membrane Housing/ Pressure Tubes/ Cooling Tower Pipping applications. Which can withstand pressures upto 1500 PSI. upto 6 elements
- Fluid containers/ tanks upto 32” diameter and 64” length for use in water/effluent treatment plants, RO systems, De-salination, Chemical storage and others
